February 2012 Prayer Update

Family, Friends, and Supporters

Thank you for praying for our family as we serve in the unique ministry of HOPE Coffee and other “business as ministry” connections through CAM International.
Here are a few quick prayer requests for the coming weeks….
  1. Tomorrow I meet with a company / ministry that has successfully setup a for-profit business that funds a non-profit ministry.  Pray that this meeting will be helpful for our team as we determine the next steps for CAM International.
  2. Next week we will have a HOPE Coffee team at a conference called The Verge in Austin, Texas.  Pray that God would allow us to have a positive influence into many churches as they consider how they can get involved in missions.  We will be serving HOPE Coffee to 400 people for 2 days and 1,700 people for 2 additional days.
  3. On March 5th, we will release 2 new roasts for HOPE Coffee.  You can read the latest about our new roasts forHOPE Coffee here on our newsletter
Please let us know how we can also pray for you and your business or employment.
Have a great month…

Business is Mission

Dear friends and family,
In two weeks (October 19-24), I’ll be joining a small team of business people taking a short term mission trip to Honduras for CAM International’s first Business as Mission Seminar for our Latin brothers and sisters in Christ.  It is titled Business for the Glory of God after Wayne Grudems book by the same title.  (Click here for the promo flyer)  Please pray for our team as we seek to encourage local Honduran business people and pastors to consider their work as worship.
Here is a link to two reflective videos for a conference here in Dallas (Nov 3) titled Work as Worship in which HOPE Coffee will be providing the coffee for the attendees.  Please watch these and reflect on how there is no divide between the secular and the sacred when you worship God with your whole life (work, family, ministry, etc.) – How is God using you in your job and location?  http://www.rightnowconferences.org/work/promote.html
Businesses for CAM
Thank you for praying for our team as we seek God’s guidance in launching the new business opportunities that God is bringing our way.
  1. We have almost finished the negotiations on a partnership with an agricultural company who will allow us to become a distributor for their organic fertilizer and oil remediation products.  This may not launch until early next year, but the final business plan and research will need to be completed before the end of 2011.  Our goal is to connect with independent sales representatives who will help to sell these products.  If you want to know more details, please contact me directly.
  2. We are in the process of beginning to directly sell web advertisements on Obrerofiel.com to support the web ministry.  Please pray for Gloria, who I’ve been training to sell these ads.  You can see the information on http://obrerofiel.com/acerca-de-nosotros/ponga-su-anuncio-en-obrerofiel-com/
  3. Of course, there is HOPE Coffee which continues to grow as well.  Pray for the 2012 expansion plans as our team meets on October 31st to finalize these plans.
  4. In addition to these businesses above, we have a 2-3 others in the pipeline that are in the incubation stage.
Our criteria for creating these businesses that are mission focused are:
  1. To create income to fund ministry – HOPE Coffee and Agricultural Products
  2. To create ministry opportunities – HOPE Coffee
  3. To create jobs for Latins to take the Gospel – Agricultural Products (future)
  4. To teach a biblical worldview (sacred / secular) – BAM Conferences
Thank you for praying for us as we “incubate” these businesses and look for Christian professionals to run them when they become self-sustaining.
Have a wonderful week!

HOPE Coffee – Happy National Coffee Day!

Dear family and friends – Thank you for your prayers and support for us.

Happy National Coffee Day! :–)

I’m including a link for you to download the third quarter impact report for HOPE Coffee along with information on our first HOPE Coffee Missions Trip in January 2012.  We praise God for everyone who has participated in purchasing HOPE Coffee which has allowed us to accomplish these areas of outreach.

HOPE Coffee gives back to CAM Missionaries:

By drinking Hope Coffee you can now direct a portion of your sale to any CAM Missionary by including their name on the website ordering system where it says, “I heard about HOPE Coffee from: Brian Masters (or other CAM Missionaries too)”   HOPE Coffee will make donations back to CAM International for those missionary accounts that are named in these web sales.  You can try it out by going to the HOPE Coffee store

Prayer Requests:

  1. Please pray for HOPE Coffee as we supply the coffee for the upcoming event called Unleashed for the Gospel here in Dallas November 2-4 for around 3,000 people.  This will be a great opportunity to share the purpose of HOPE Coffee with many church leaders from around the area and nation.  We praise God for allowing us His favor in the eyes of those planning this event as they graciously allowed us to provide the coffee for this event along with signs and pre-packaged coffee to sell to the participants.
  2. Please pray for open doors for Tammy, an intern from University of North Texas, who is helping us market HOPE Coffee to the Dallas Ft. Worth churches.

HOPE Coffee background:

Did you ever think that drinking coffee could have an eternal purpose?  Hope Coffee is an outreach ministry of CAM International.  It started with a CAM missionary in Honduras who wanted to help the Honduran church and the community by using the profits of selling high quality coffee to build shelter and provide clean water.  Check out the story online http://www.hopecoffee.org/our-story/.

All of the Honduran coffee comes from Arabica coffee beans that are grown at high elevations in the Honduras mountains. Right now there are 2 blends, one that traceable to the farmers who grew the coffee (medium roast) and another one that is a celebration of the 120 years of ministry of CAM International (bold roast).  For about the same price as a leading brand of coffee, you, your organization or your church can enjoy delicious coffee from a company whose sole mission is missions!  All of the profits go to missions.

Check out the website at www.hopecoffee.org.

Have a wonderful National Coffee Day by drinking a cup of coffee (HOPE Coffee if you have it).  :-)
